About THe Workshop
This workshop will focus on increasing awareness and humility for people identified as white to do the spiritual work of healing and repairing from the moral injury to our souls of participating and benefiting from the systems of white supremacy in our own contexts. This workshop will lay out a framework of moral injury from white supremacy for people who have identified themselves as white, including the basic somatic, affective, cognitive, and communal processes for healing. Accountability and repair will be seen as the goal rather than shame and guilt. Participants will reflect on processes, the sacred commitment, of repentance, forgiveness and repair to be received internally, extended to oneself, and lived outwardly in new right actions.

Acerca del taller
Este taller se enfocará en aumentar la conciencia y la humildad de las personas que se identifican como blancas, para hacer el trabajo espiritual de curar y reparar el daño moral a nuestras almas al participar y beneficiarse de los sistemas de supremacía blanca en nuestros propios contextos. Este taller presentará un marco de daño moral de la supremacía blanca para las personas que se han identificado a sí mismas como blancas, incluidos los procesos básicos somáticos, afectivos, cognitivos y comunitarios para la curación. La rendición de cuentas y la reparación se verán como el objetivo en lugar de la vergüenza y la culpa. Las y los participantes reflexionarán sobre los procesos, el compromiso sagrado, el arrepentimiento, el perdón y la reparación para ser recibido internamente, extendido a una y uno mismo y vivido exteriormente en nuevas acciones correctas.

The Rev. Sandi John proposes this workshop out of her own ongoing awakening and working through of her landed colonial-settler white supremacist experience and as a part of her own healing and reparations. Professionally Sandi has nearly 50 years’ experience in behavioral health nursing, pastoral and family care and counseling, education, consultation, healthcare chaplaincy and pastoral ministry. Her passion has been at the intersections of spirituality and health, in practices of inner contemplation and outward action. She is a former executive board member of BPFNA-Bautistas por la Paz.

La reverenda Sandi John propone este taller a partir de su propio despertar y el trabajo en curso de su experiencia de supremacista blanca como colono colonial terrateniente y como parte de su propia curación y reparación. Profesionalmente, Sandi tiene casi 50 años de experiencia en enfermería de salud conductual, atención y asesoramiento pastoral y familiar, educación, consulta, capellanía de atención médica y ministerio pastoral. Su pasión ha estado en las intersecciones de la espiritualidad y la salud, en las prácticas de contemplación interior y acción exterior. Es ex miembro de la junta directiva de BPFNA-Bautistas por la Paz.
