Alliance of Baptists • Andover Newton Seminary at Yale University • Equal Exchange • Nevertheless She Preached
These three core values guide the Alliance of Baptists. The Alliance of Baptists began in 1987 as a prophetic voice in Baptist life. Today, we have grown to be a justice movement and community of faith. We are male and female laity and clergy, people of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, theological beliefs, and ministry practices. We are about 4,500 individual members and roughly 140 congregations knit together by love for one another and God, combining progressive inquiry, contemplative prayer and prophetic action to bring about justice and healing in a changing world. • LEARN MORE
Deeply rooted in Christian faith and radically open to what God is doing now, Andover Newton Seminary at Yale Divinity School educates inspiring leaders for faith communities. Our students come from locally governed free-church (c)ongregational traditions - primarily from American Baptist Churches USA and the United Church of Christ, along with a few students who are from the Unitarian Universalist Association and the Alliance of Baptists.
Andover Newton is a Welcoming and Affirming school in the Baptist tradition and an Open and Affirming school in the UCC tradition. Our core values and newly updated strategic plan can all be found on our website. In order to participate in Andover Newton's academic program, one must be a matriculated student with Yale Divinity School.
Plans are underway for Andover Newton's fall convocation. The theme will be: Emerging. Gathering. Belonging. Even if you're not an alum of the school, you are invited to join us for this series of events the week of October 18, 2021. Look for more information in late July.
Equal Exchange is a 35 year old fair trade organization that buys directly from small-scale farmer cooperatives, owned and run by the farmers themselves. Because farmers are paid above market prices for their crops, they are able to make investments in community projects, educational programs, and technical trainings. These cooperative organizations also help keep rural communities healthy and strong, and keep local cultures vibrant. Equal Exchange is also committed to supporting sustainable farming methods that help green the earth through reforestation, natural resource conservation and organic practices.
Use the promo code EE21BPFNA during BPFNA’s 40 Days Event (July 20th through August 28th) and 10% of your Equal Exchange purchase of coffee, tea, chocolate and other products will be donated to the BPFNA Summer Conference Scholarship Fund.
Nevertheless She Preached exists to empower all people to dismantle patriarchal structures by elevating voices of faith leaders on the margins, especially womxn and sexual minorities of all racial and ethnic backgrounds.
Founded in Waco, Texas in 2017 to combat the lack of female representation in Baptist seminaries and churches, Nevertheless She Preached rapidly grew to become a national, ecumenical movement that centers and celebrates the perspectives of those on the margins.
